WiFi - printing

Can I print from the APN WiFi network?

Yes, you can print to the APN public printer located in the library.

1.   Does your laptop have the correct printer driver?

Windows XP: Start | Control Panel | Printers | Add a Printer | Next | Local (don't detect) | Next (will come back to port) | Manufacturer = HP, Printers - look for HP Laserjet P2015 or P2055

First check the model APN public printer, if your laptop doesn't have those drivers already you may need to download them. We currently have two model printers: HP Laserjet P2015  and HP Laserjet P2055

We recommend using the HP Universal PCL 5 driver for either model printers. Click here to download the Windows XP/Vista HP Universal PCL 5 driver from our website.  Alternative printer driver for the P2015 is here.

If you wish to download printer drivers from the HP website you will need to configure your browser's FTP settings to work on the APN WiFi.  [ FTP proxy  = 10.10.10.1 port 80 ]

2.     Install the printer

Windows XP instructions here
Don't use the IP address in instructions, just use the word printer

3.    You need to create a new TCP/IP port while installing your printer

Add a standard TCP/IP port - the host name is printer

The host name of the port printer will work at any of the APN WiFi locations so you should only have to create this port once.
