Can I change the default setting on the scanner ?

Yes, you can change almost all of the image related setting on the scanner.

How to?

Once you have selected the location to scan to (Scan to PC or Scan to Media) you should see a screen with three tabs Labelled "Save In" "Basic Scanning" and "More Scan Features"

Using the touch screen to select "Basic Scanning", you can change:

- Output colour             [Full Colour, Greyscale, Black]

- File Format                 [PDF, DocuWorks, Tiff, Multi-page TIFF, JPEG]

Please read our information on Tiffs before using this file format

- 2 Sided Original          [1 Sided, 2 Sided]

- Original Type              [Text, Text & Photo, Photo]

- Lighten/Darken          [7 levels of adjustment]

Using the touch screen to select "more Scan Features", you can change:

- Scan Size                   [Auto Size Detected, Standard Size, Variable Size]

- Reduce/Enlarge         [Preset %, Auto %]

- Scan Resolution         [200dpi, 300dpi, 400dpi, 600dpi]

- Image Compression   [Higher, Normal, Lower]

- Mixed Size Original     [Off, On]

- Sharpness                  [5 Levels of adjustment]

- Auto Exposure            [Off, On]

- Contrast                     [5 Levels of adjustment]

Notes:

- Once you have made your changes you need to go back to the "Save In" tab to continue scanning.

- The changes you make will stay for your "session" which lasts as long as you are active on the scanner, and will end when you have been inactive on the scanner for 60 seconds. The scanner will then revert back to its default settings.
