Can I download software (programs, installers, drivers) from the internet to the APN Public PCs?

YES but

YOU CAN NOT install software or programs or drivers that are not already on the APN Public PCs

So what's the point?

you can copy files to Removable media for use on other computers (eg your non-networked home computer)
you can download supported file types eg downloading .mp3 files is ok

APN provides a broadband network connection to the library - download (and upload) speeds vary depending on location and load
Pornographic content is BLOCKED see Blocked website

Files containing viruses are BLOCKED
There are download and upload file size limits: as of August 2009 download file size limit is 800 MB and upload file size limit is 200 MB
Files that end with .exe or are "installers" are prevented from running on the APN Public PCs
Websites and downloading files on non-standard network ports are BLOCKED eg Runescape, play.clubpenguin.com, puzzle pirates, midomi.com and some chatrooms/chat software are blocked. Online Gaming websites than operate on non-standard ports are not supported on the APN network (PC and WiFi)
